today is the day of the little
little dad picks a little flower
for a little child
the little kid
belittling of other
of one another
of self
this morning
the slices are no where to be found
no one to claim it
no one to give to
to get or to cook for
this delicious
slice of life
is sweet
the type you eat with a cup of tea
to wash it
to ease it down
or to simply cut away
dont spend time
there is no budget
so if you didnt get the shot you want
simply cut away
dont offer the beater
instead
pray for a better day
"...but through the eternal night, the twinkling of starlight, so very far away, maybe it's only yesterday..."

Another Wutever
Another
mother
other
than
the
other
mother
child
an unknown father
I rather be dead
than taller
or smaller
cant see the other side
and the side walk will end
mother

the
other
mother
child
an unknown father
I rather be dead
than taller
or smaller
cant see the other side
and the side walk will end

Now I haven't talked to him ever since,
ever since when!!!
I came to realize
I am still his number one fan
his music
is...(dot, dot, dot)
Heh, now I'm not hypocritical
that's why I remain intrigued
by the tunes
the broken records on the loose
now this, brings back memory
it was there unnoticed
and life goes on
it must...
ever since when!!!

Kinder Deer Hunting

We were late
one morning
going to the kindergarten
my dad and I
he made me memorize this song
he drew little figures
a mountain
a deer
and a gun
and the gurl
میخوام برم کوه
شکاره آهو
تفنگ من کو؟
لیلی جان
تفنگه من کو؟
which reads
"I'm going to the mountain
Deer hunting
Where is my rifle?
Dear Layli
Where is my rifle?
when we arrived
he explained
that we were rehearsing
as the reason to which we were late
he asked me to perform
in front of all the other kids
i felt set up
but I did it
he always made me feel sure
and i miss him
i miss that feeling
Pari Zanganeh
a blind woman
sings this folklore song
she reminds me of my mom
hearing this melody
after so long
means something
so much to me
when we were coming to canada
the government
had given her
permission to sing once again
in such old age
exceptional law
just for her
since the entire nation
loved her
she produced two albums
all remixes of her old work
in choir...
dad bought Yasi some tapes
and he bought me the two cassettes
of her recent work
we came to canada
and time passed
and i dont know where those tapes are anymore
i'm sure they are somewhere
stored in the basement
things changed
and i met people
and i saw so many faces
and nothing means so much
like the childhood memories
and i miss every second of it
i wonder how is Helia
Pari Zanganeh reminded me of her mom too
long gone are
the memories of the childhood friends
I hope who ever is out there
can appreciate this work of art

how did it get to this
i want to go back way back in time
i would have done things differently
i miss everything
i don't belong here
oh god, how did it get to this
what happened to me
please. i want to go back
let this be a dream
a very bad dream
god help us please
i miss everything
i want everything to be good again
i dont know what to do
i have no one to talk to
but you
i dont know how to do things now
why me?
